My Start Here at BLBC, May 25 (Original date of authorship)

Twenty Five Days ago I started into the Outfitters program here at Bair Lake Bible Camp (BLBC). Life here has been pretty fast paced: hosting groups from a couple different schools, serving church retreats, and currently hosting a women’s retreat. We have had four classes in apologetics, a few Bible study lessons, weekly morning prayer time, and many other things as a group.

The Outfitters program is a ministry designed to disciple young adults, like me, so we are equipped to continue in the process and calling of discipleship.

So, now I have it ALL figured out. … No, just kidding. I’m so glad I’m here, because I have so much to learn. I want to grow to be bold and secure in my faith in Christ Jesus. I want to find a passion or goal for the LORD and follow Him in it.

Life here is still real. The families here who are on staff have had hard times too. We meet every Friday morning and share news reports that we’ve researched, so that we can be conscious of the world outside of camp. I still have battles constantly with temptation and pride. God is still good. He’s still taking care of us. He loves us.

I’m very thankful I am here. Thank You all for your prayers, as I am sure some of you have been praying. And thank the LORD Jesus for doing what He does. God is good.

Love,
  Stephen B. Mechling
